I provide Indian head massage (a clothed and seated treatment) which, unlike the name suggests, includes massage to the back, shoulders, upper arms and neck, as well as the scalp and face; it includes a stretch to the neck, and a passive movement of the shoulders.
I also carry out 'balancing' of the chakras (the seven energy centres in Ayurveda).
There is an optional oil treatment to the hair at the end.
I have a VTCT/ITEC Level 3 (RQF) qualification in Indian Head Massage, which I obtained after training at the London School of Massage, gaining practical experience ('case studies') over two months and submitting reports of the treatments, and passing a theory and practical exam with ITEC.
For balance of teaching styles, massage routines and techniques, I have also completed shorter courses with Gateway Workshops - in Indian head massage and seated chair massage (carried out on a massage chair).
I am a Member of the Complementary Therapists Association, and I am insured by Zurich Insurance (through Balens Specialist Insurance Brokers).
I am currently studying for a Level 3 (RQF) qualification in anatomy and physiology.
Aside from formal training, I have been giving massage to loved ones for most of my life - it was a normal part of my upbringing in a family culture that included Ayurvedic practices.
In addition to offering these treatments privately, I am a volunteer therapist at the UCL Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
In my 'day job', I am a Chartered Engineer.
Registered Professionals are fully trained and are bound by a strict Code of Practice. You can be confident of a high quality, professional treatment. Click on the therapist's name to see the treatments for which they are qualified and insured.
